Nordic Natural Beauty Awards 2021 winners were announced in the awards’ Instagram Live Show on Thursday, October 28th, 2021. The competition was tight in all of the categories, proving that all the nominees are just incredible.
We wanted to take a deeper look at the winners and why they specifically make a great addition to anyone’s beauty routine. To avoid the list of the winners becoming one heavy manual (even though we know it would be a good one!), we divided the winners into four parts. This post is all about FACIAL AND BODY CLEANSING.
GENTLE YET EFFECTIVE FACIAL CLEANSING
Let’s start from the very basics of what comes to our facial beauty regime. Gentle but effective cleansing of the skin is the basis for a better natural glow.
Laponie of Scandinavia’s Milk Cleanser received the title for the Best Nordic Natural Facial Cleansing Product in the main 100% natural categories. This award-winning mild Milk Cleanser is made with nourishing canola oil, hydrating plant-based glycerin, and conditioning as well as anti-bacterial xylitol sugar. It gently but effectively removes oil, dirt, and makeup, for skin that feels fresh and comfortable.

TAIKA‘s Moisturising Gel Cleanser received the title of the Best 99% Natural Cleansing Product.
The gel takes away water-soluble makeup, including eye makeup, and thoroughly cleanses skin pores. The gentle, sulfate-free formulation does not dry out the skin nor leave the skin feeling tighteningly dry. The combination of three xylitols and organic birch sap moisturizes and soothes the skin.

There were some incredible soaps in the awards contest this year, and happily, a few of them received prizes in different categories. Here are a few more details about these products…
Grevinnans Rum’s Saltvattentvålen No:1 (saltwater soap) (liquid) was titled the Best Nordic Natural Soap in 2021 in the main 100% natural categories. The brand’s saltwater soap was much loved for the second year-round, this time in a liquid formulation.
The jury loved this year’s soap as follows:
One of the best soaps ever. Such a pleasure. Didn’t dry out the skin. The scent is brilliant!

This award-winning soap is for the whole body and for all skin types. It contains Dead Sea salt that nourishes the body. It is a real aroma experience with the scents of real peppermint, citrus, and Litsea Cubeba. The soap is organic and vegan, as a typical product of Grevinnans Rum.
The title of the Best 99% Natural Soap went to TAIKA and their Hand Soap. This gentle hand soap forms a soft foam that washes effectively without leaving the skin feeling tight. The formulation containing moisturizing glycerol and almond oil respects the skin’s moisture balance during washing. The freshly scented liquid soap is suitable for the whole family for daily use. The skin stays clean and fresh.

Loved this one! It felt very nice washing my hands with this soap and the feeling of cleanliness and moistness was really good after use.

Skärgårdstvål and their archipelago-themed soap – Havtorn (Seabuckthorn) – won the title of Best Package Design. And the packaging is special indeed!
The practical float of cork that sits on the soap makes it easy to keep track of in the water even if you happen to drop it. It is also easy to hang up the soap from its’ loop so that it can dry for a while before it is repacked for the return home.
Each loop is handmade by a local Swedish fisherman. The organic natural corks are stamped by hand, which makes all corks unique. The packaging is always made of environmentally friendly paper.
All archipelago soaps are handmade from organic ingredients and with inspiration from the Swedish boathouses and the Swedish archipelago. They are wonderful to take to a bathing place, onboard a boat, or to your summer (or winter) cottage.
