In the awards autumn series of blog posts, we get to know the brands and people behind the nominee products of the Nordic Natural Beauty Awards 2022. In this post, we are proud to share more about the Finnish natural cosmetics brand Luonnonlahja.

Luonnonlahja, with its’ handcrafted salt soaps, was founded in 2020. The first soap bars were created in the home of the designer Katja Hynninen and her mother Leena when the two women got the idea to make natural soap bars in their own kitchen. Already the first soap bar was created with their very own, personal recipe. Soon, word began to spread around about the handmade salt soaps and acquaintances came to get their own pieces of soap as gifts or for themselves. Today, the soaps are handmade, produced in Finland, and sold at Luonnonlahja’s webshop.

As a brand new addition to the Nordic natural cosmetics market, the fresh, heart-shaped salt soap by Luonnonlahja is not only pretty to look at but a safe choice for your skin and the environment.

The Luonnonlahja salt soap is a gentle yet effective cleanser – its’ secret lies in the nurturing ingredients as well as their ratio. The main ingredients are fine sea salt, coconut butter, and camelina oil, which is sourced from false flax (Camelina sativa).

Soap bars are very long-lasting since they’re concentrated and they wear out evenly during washes. The award-nominated, heart-shaped salt soap bar of Luonnonlahja works for every skin type and can be carefreely used even by those suffering from allergies or atopic skin since the ingredient list is free from synthetic colorants and fragrances, and is formulated to be especially gentle. The bar includes no animal-derived ingredients, which makes it also completely vegan.

In addition to salt-based soaps, Luonnonlahja has oat and nettle soaps in the collection. Every branch of soap is created to have all of the good properties of a soap bar, but to disappear without a trace after its use. The soaps are biodegradable, so they can be used at the summer cottage or during hiking. However, even ecological soaps shouldn’t be let into water streams, since biodegradation happens in the soil. The washing should be kept far enough from the shore, so the soap remains can absorb into the ground.

The core ideology of Luonnonlahja is to live in harmony with nature, or rather, to be a part of nature. Luonnonlahja is spreading the cause of harmony to their customers, through heartfelt service and products made with love.
