In the awards autumn series of blog posts, we get to know the brands and people behind the nominee products of the Nordic Natural Beauty Awards 2022. In this post, we are proud to share more about the Swedish natural skincare brand Wise, as told by the founder of the brand, Gunilla Brunell.

“With my wise products, I wanted to contribute to a healthier planet and add consciousness around what we apply to our skin. When I reflected on what generations of women in my family have taught me and how skincare is produced today, I realized how we have lost the source of natural beauty. With Wise cosmetics, we let our customers take part in a heritage that has been developed for hundreds of years.

I have a diploma in skin and aromatherapy and an education in herbal medicine and I am also a part of a tradition of three generations of women before me, who have taught me the healing powers of plants. I am the product developer of Wise and can call myself a pioneer in ecological and plant-based skincare, as Wise was launched as early as 1998, first as a professional salon brand, and completely based on botanical ingredients. With over 30 years of experience, Wise Organic Skincare now creates exclusive, professional, and plant-based skincare products.

The ecological products of Wise have always been created by carefully studying how every plant, oil, and herb contributes to the wellness of the skin, without destroying the planet. With the experts at Axelson’s school of skin therapy, the products sprung to life during the 90s. Today, you can create your own magical skincare routine with our complete skincare sets.

Wise cosmetics can be split into three main functions. The first is to strengthen and build the skin’s ph-barrier and microbiome, which are its inherent protection. The second function is to protect the skin from air pollution, dirt, moisture loss, and daily toxins, and the third is to bring the skin the right nutrition and building- blocks, such as vitamins, antioxidants, fatty acids, and minerals.

I am very proud to have not one but three of Wise’s products nominated in the Nordic Natural Beauty Awards 2022, and therefore, I would like to share a few words about these three products that are very dear to me.

To start with, the Calming Rose Face Cream contains active ingredients with an enchanting scent and a calming effect on the skin and mind. The botanical plant oils bring nutrients to the skin with their high quantity of fatty acids, bind moisture through aromatic oils such as geranium, and calm the skin with rose and chamomile. The chamomile and rose also help to avoid the bursting of blood vessels and calm sensitive, stressed and rosacea-prone skin. All put together, they create a smoothing effect and a beautiful glow. The lightness of the cream makes it exceptionally suited for mature skin. 

Our Wise Magic Drops is an uncomplicated hyaluronic acid serum, made to be used seven days a week under a face balm, day cream, or our Glow mask. Hyaluronic acid is a cell-renewal substance naturally found in the body, but its production decreases with age. With this serum, you can fill out the moisture deposits found deep in the skin, which renews its elasticity and vitality and stimulates cell- renewal. The skin’s moisture barrier and the microbiome are strengthened and it becomes smoother and healthier. It is a must-have in the daily skincare routine for those with fragile, dry, or dried-out acne, who wish for freshness and an inner glow. One small drop is enough for the entire face. 

Our Anti-Age Serum with lime flower and broccoli oil is for mature skin that needs strengthening products to combat the loss of elasticity and moisture while preventing and reducing wrinkles. The active and caring serum has a base of botanical oils, such as broccoli oil, almond oil, linden flower oil, thistle seed oil, and frankincense. The complex oil enriches the skin with fifty different fatty acids, a few of them being Omega 3, 6, and 9. Vitamins, such as A, B, D, and E, combined with antioxidants from linden flowers and frankincense add to the oxygenation and detoxing of the skin. The oil is very rich and only two drops are required for the entire face. It’s best applied morning and night on damp skin.
