In the awards autumn series of blog posts, we get to know the brands behind the nominee products of the Nordic Natural Beauty Awards 2023. In this post, we are proud to share more about the Finnish natural cosmetics brand Saivo Naturals, as told by the brand:

“The birth of Saivo Naturals has been slow, yet definitely straight from the heart. Suvi and Kati’s roots are strong in the soil of Finnish Lapland, which inevitably ties a person as an inherent part of nature. The women’s paths crossed years ago and that’s how the trips to the forest together began. The batteries were charged in the nature of Lapland; on the fells, by the river, collecting berries and going on adventures in the forests. Both women were used to bringing home berries, mushrooms and fish, but the possibilities of using wild herbs opened up a whole new world. 

A natural cosmetics course was organized in 2019, which was the turning point, and after that there was no going back. Many kinds of creams and soaps were produced in the kitchens at home and usually in larger quantities than needed. Sometimes there were failures, but never discouragement. The women kept studying these wild herbs even more, and their benefits in skin care, especially the ones that grow in the nature of Finnish Lapland. We were amazed time and time again; “What treasures there can be found in our nature!”. Things started to work out little by little, and Saivo Naturals was founded in the spring of 2022.

The arctic conditions makes Lapland’s wild herbs and berries very aromatic and rich in nutrients. On top of everything, they grow here in the cleanest forests of the world. Saivo Naturals wants to raise people’s awareness about how amazing ingredients we have here, right in our Lapland’s forests.  

Saivo Naturals natural cosmetics are made from the pure natural ingredients, with the powerful wild herbs and berries from Lapland’s forests. 

Saivo Naturals products use berries and wild herbs from the pure forests of Lapland. We live here in arctic conditions; our winter is long, cold and dark, but the summer is bright and the sun shines around the clock. That makes the Laplands naturals products extreamly aromatic and rich in nutrients. 

We do not use additives, colors or preservatives in our products, because we want to minimize the amount of chemical load on our skin. 

One of the most important values of Saivo Naturals is respecting our nature; Nature offers us good things, as long as we are good to nature. 

We want Saivo Naturals products to be suitable for as many people as possible and that is why they are made from natural ingredients without additives, colorants or preservatives. Many people have found them helpful for their various  skin concerns. We recommend our products to everyone, but especially to those who feel that nature is important. When people start to use natural cosmetics, they are also giving their own small contribution to nature.

The award-nominated Deep Forest Shampoo contains the well-being of Lapland’s forests. 

Deep Forest Shampoo is a sulfate-free shampoo that does not dry out the hair or scalp. The plant-based oils and fats of the gently washing shampoo soften the hair and give it more fluffiness. This shampoo contains juniper, spruce and nettle from the pure nature of Lapland. 

Juniper relieves skin itching, treats and cleans the scalp, and balances the oiliness of the scalp. 

The essential oils from the young tips of the spruce tree prevent inflammatory conditions and renews the skin. Young tips of the spruce tree also contain plenty of vitamins A and C which protect and nourish the hair and scalp. 

Nettle strengthens the hair and gives it shine. Nettle also helps for dandruff and itching of the scalp.

At the moment Saivo Naturals’ production is testing new products that naturally contain ingredients from Lapland’s nature. We know that it’s a privilege to live here in Lapland and together with the other local companies we can cherish the nature around us.
